Danish land strife causes homicide, suicide PDF Print E-mail

Danish Land Dispute Leads to deaths
A Danish farmer was shot by a neighbouring farmer, following a year-long disagreement over land on the rocky Baltic Sea island of Bornholm, reports Politiken, one of Denmark's leading broadsheets.

The killer then took his own life. The strife between the two farmers over an agricultural land lease had gone on for several years. The lease agreement was particularly unbeneficial to the owner of the land but could not be legally terminated.

When the unsatisfied party saw the leaseholder harvesting on the contested land he killed him with a single shot.
