Has Land Value Tax ever been tried? |
Taxes of this nature have been tried in various forms, and at various times.
Many of the articles in Land & Liberty give some information as to its implementation and levels of success.
One particularly famous attempt to implement Land Value Tax was in the so-called "Peoples Budget" which the great British Prime Minister David Lloyd-George tried to pass in 1909, and which led to the creation of the Parliament Act.
Other attempts to implement LVT have happened in Australia and parts of the USA.
You can find out more about this by reading Land and LIberty, searching this site, or attending events held by the Henry George Foundation.
