Working out of our office in London at Piccadilly, our Library in Mandeville Place and the homes, offices and colleges of our volunteer supporters we are engaged in a variety of projects and activities under the three broad headings of research, advocacy and education. Through our work we inject fresh and intelligent thinking into a broad range of social policy agendas. we seek to put forward practical and innovative solutions to seemingly intractable social problems. Our collaborations and partnerships engage and inspire the work of others putting people at the heart of economics.
The Foundation takes its name from the 19th century American social reformer Henry George.
First established in 1920 with the coming together of local land leagues from across the UK, the Foundation's approach is inspired by George's profound insights and radical ideas. These insights and ideas remain as applicable for society today - and as vital if we are to increase our understanding of and develop lasting solutions to today's profound social, economic and environmental problems.
